What Outwise is — and is not
Outwise ingests trip context (destination, activity, season, group, experience level, existing gear), references a database of generally accepted outdoor practices, and renders three artefacts: a structured trip brief, a gear/risk packet, and a 30-second briefing video. Every artefact is AI-generated.

- Not certified rescue training. The briefing reel is a preparation aid, not a substitute for hands-on first aid, wilderness rescue, or technical training (e.g. avalanche, swiftwater, technical rope).
- Not a guide service. Outwise does not lead trips, scout routes, or provide live decision-making in the field. Hire a licensed guide for technical climbing, ski mountaineering, glacier travel, ice climbing, diving, canyoneering, and similar activities.
- Not medical advice. Output is informational. It is not issued by a clinician and does not substitute consultation with one.
- Not travel insurance. Outwise does not underwrite, sell, or broker travel insurance. Insurance for high-risk activities should be purchased independently.
Medical conditions advisory
If you have a heart condition, asthma, are pregnant, manage a chronic illness, require regular medication, or are recovering from injury or surgery, you must consult your doctor before relying on any Outwise briefing. AI cannot triage a personal medical context, and you must not infer fitness for an activity from briefing output alone.
High-risk activities
Outputs for activities such as alpinism, ski mountaineering, technical climbing, ice climbing, scuba diving, canyoneering, expedition kayaking, paragliding, and motorsport are explicitly preliminary. For any of these activities you should: engage a licensed guide / instructor, complete the relevant certification, and purchase activity-specific insurance. Outwise output never constitutes a permit, qualification, or insurance.
Weather, fitness & unforeseen events
AI-generated briefings draw on patterns and generalised data. They can not and do not predict: live local weather, your individual fitness on the day, hidden conditions on the route, equipment failures, or third-party action. Always cross-reference live forecasts (e.g. Met Office, MeteoSwiss, NOAA, IMO), consult local rangers, and trust your own judgement in the field.
Model accuracy & hallucination
AI systems can produce errors, including authoritative-sounding statements that are simply wrong. We continually evaluate output, but no model is 100% accurate. Treat every recommendation as a starting checklist — verify critical claims (route closures, permits, restricted areas, transport schedules) against authoritative local sources before acting.
No reliance for legal evidence
Outwise output may not be used as evidence in legal proceedings concerning outdoor incidents, insurance disputes, or liability claims. Briefings are generated for personal preparation only.
Age & minors
Outwise is not designed for use by children. Parents and guardians remain fully responsible for trip planning involving minors and should never rely on AI briefings alone for unaccompanied youth activity. The Acceptable Use Policy prohibits generating briefings for unaccompanied minor high-risk activity.
